The sad incident occurred in Misamis Occidental where two siblings, ages four and two, died in a fire while left alone inside a locked hut. According to residents, they even saw smoke coming from the hut, but it was too late when they reached it.

Three neighbors tried to help, but because the children's house was far away, they couldn't reach it. According to one resident, they only saw smoke when they arrived at the area.
