
A 34-year-old woman died after she was shot by a riding-in-tandem in Barangay Marulas, Valenzuela City on Thursday night. According to CCTV, while the victim was walking on the side of the road on F. Bautista Street, a man riding a motorcycle opened fire on her. The suspect got off and shot the victim again before quickly fleeing.
PMaj. Randy Llanderal of the Valenzuela Police said, the woman was hit by four or more bullets in the head and body. The victim, who was allegedly trying to make money at the corner of Marulas, died on the spot.
In the police investigation, it was revealed that the victim had a previous drug conviction and was just released last year. The crime may have been related to an unpaid transaction, according to a witness.
According to Barangay Marulas, the victim had previously also complaint about the theft but there were agreements that he would not do it again. Due to the incident, security has been tightened in the area.
Police are continuing to backtrack through CCTV to identify the perpetrators. There is reportedly a person of interest, and authorities are asking for help from the public with information about the shooting.
