A Vietnamese woman was rescued from a harrowing ordeal after she was abducted, drugged, and raped by three Chinese nationals in an apartment in San Lorenzo Village, Makati. According to police, the suspects had to extort nearly ₱1 million in exchange for her freedom.
The incident allegedly occurred after the victim visited a friend in Brgy. Bel-Air on June 2. When she left the condo lobby, the suspects suddenly grabbed her and put her in a car. They took her to an apartment where she was exploited. From there, she was taken to Tagaytay where two more men were added to the crime.
The suspects sent a message using the victim's cellphone to her husband, who was abroad. Here, they demanded a ransom of ₱1 million, threatening to cut off her finger if she did not pay.
The police immediately took action after receiving a tip from a friend of the victim's husband. The victim was recovered as well as another Filipina who was also said to be held hostage. Three men were arrested: Alias Lei, Xing, and Zhou. Lei is a repeater offender and has previous cases of kidnapping and illegal possession of firearms.
Guns, ammunition, drugs, liquid ecstasy, handcuffs, and counterfeit money were also seized from the suspects. The arrested foreigners are set to be charged with kidnap-for-ransom, rape, illegal firearms,, and counterfeit money use while investigations continue to determine if they are part of a larger syndicate.
