He finished second behind Mahdi Olfati of Iran and Huang Mingqi of China. On the same day, he also finished in third place on the parallel bars with 14.166 points.
The Philippine Sports Commission is full of praise for Carlos on his victory.
In their post, they said, “Truly #BidaAngBayaningManlalaro sa iyong kusa!” They added, “Thank you for showing off your skills, Caloy! Long live!”
Carlos wasn't the only one to bring home the honor—his younger brother Eldrew Yulo also followed.
The 16-year-old Eldrew earned a silver medal in the junior vault event after earning an average score of 13.850 points. This is his third consecutive year on the podium, following gold in Uzbekistan in 2024 and silver in Singapore in 2023.
