Apple has a big splash at WWDC25. Craig Federighi called it a “once every 10 years” update – the last one this big was iOS 7 in 2013. One of the biggest changes today is Liquid Glass, a new translucent digital material that gives a glossy, more vibrant look to the entire interface of Apple devices. It moves based on user input and looks like real glass—it sees the surroundings, reflects and refracts.
The new Phone app is also featured in iOS 26. Calls, messages, and voicemail have been unified for more organized and easy access to all communications. There are also new anti-spam features to filter texts and calls from unknown numbers. In addition, the Phone app will also come to the Mac for a more solid Apple ecosystem.
Apple devices are also getting smarter, thanks to Apple Intelligence. There's real-time Live Translation in Messages and FaceTime, and Apple Maps can now learn your daily routine. In the Wallet app, we'll be introducing Digital ID, which can be used at some airports even if you don't have a physical ID.
The iPad and Apple Watch aren't forgotten either. The iPad will have a new windowing system and customizable menu bar, making it easier and more multitasking-friendly. The Apple Watch will have Workout Buddy, an AI-powered coach that provides spoken motivation while you exercise.
Even AirPods and CarPlay have new features. You can now record studio-quality audio with AirPods, and the look of CarPlay is also being revamped for a more modern experience.
