The three cousins and the female live-in partner of one of them were arrested after they were implicated in a holdup at a junkshop in Barangay Bahay Toro, Quezon City. According to the QCPD, early in the morning of June 6, armed suspects entered the junkshop on Congressional Avenue, pointed a gun at the owner, and stole P30,000 in cash and four cellphones from the victims.
The police immediately took action and formed a Special Investigation Team which gathered CCTV footage. With its help, the suspects' movements were tracked until they were arrested in Bagong Barrio, Caloocan last Saturday. The suspects were identified as aliases “Mark Anthony,” “Mark Acevin,” “Mark Eugene,” and “Renquel.” Various types of guns, ammunition, sampak, and the motorcycle used in the escape were recovered from them.
It also appears that some of them have previously been facing robbery, carnapping, and drugs cases. Currently, they are detained at CIDU Camp Karingal and charged with robbery, violation of the Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act, Firearms Law, and Omnibus Election Code.
