The three sisters—Olivia (5), Evelyn (8), and Paitlyn (9)—were found dead on June 2 at Rock Island Campground, Chelan County, Washington. They had been missing since May 30 after a planned visit with their father Travis Decker.
Based on a preliminary report from Chelan County Superior Court, the possible cause of death was asphyxiation. Decker, a former soldier, is also missing and is suspected of having involved in the deaths of his children.
Decker's car was found near the campsite. It contained items such as blankets, food, a car seat, and wallet in the middle of the vehicle. According to the report, there were bloody fingerprints on the vehicle. A tent and cooler were also found around the camp, indicating recent activity.
His cellphone was traced back to the area a day before the incident. When authorities called him to return the children, the call reportedly went straight to voicemail. He has not been contacted since.
According to the Wenatchee Police Department, Decker is facing three counts of first-degree murder, one count of kidnapping, and custodial interference. He is believed to be dangerous to approach. Decker's ex-wife also said that he may have mental health issues and that he previously had borderline personality disorder but was not taking medication.
