The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has been ordered by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to immediately expand the Walang Gutom Program so that more poor people can be helped. The program aims to reach families in need immediately.
According to DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, due to the good results of the program, up to 300,000 families have been helped. Now that it has been expanded, they are targeting to reach 750,000 food-poor families this year.
DSWD is proud that the Walang Gutom Program is a great help in reducing the cases of hunger in the country. They continue to work hard to provide more Filipinos with food and hope.
