Cellphones and laptops suspected of being used in a scam hub were thrown from the window of a condominium in Parañaque City. Riots broke out in the area after the operation was opened.
According to a report by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), people inside the unit tried to destroy evidence by throwing away items during the operation.
Several residents were shocked by the noise and falling objects from the building. Authorities immediately took action to ensure no one was injured and some items were salvaged.
The gadgets are believed to be used in online scams and it is possible that they may still contain information that could help in the investigation.
The NBI is currently investigating other accomplices and the extent of the scam hub's operations.
