A 23-year-old man died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a tricycle along Maguey Road between Barangay San Luis and Barangay San Isidro, Antipolo, Rizal this Monday morning, June 2.
According to Barangay Peace and Safety Officer Alexander Zaulda, they had just arrived from the flag ceremony when they received a call about the accident. When they arrived at the scene, the tricycle was already on the side of the road while the rider was lying on the road.
Antipolo Rescue also responded immediately to provide first aid but the rider was dead-on-the-spot. The 50-year-old tricycle driver and 41-year-old female passenger were injured but were immediately discharged from the hospital with minor injuries.
A resident named Abraham Mutas said the motorcycle was going fast before it wiggled and crashed. He also noticed that the rider's helmet was for a bicycle.
The family of the deceased rider and the tricycle driver did not file a case because both parties had reached a settlement.
