A man from Solihull, England was shocked to discover that the coat he bought online was the very same 2016 Honda Civic Type R that was stolen from him. He had owned the coat for three years before it suddenly disappeared one morning while his girlfriend was using it.
Ewan Valentine, 36, immediately reported the incident to the police and insurance company. He also posted photos of the car on social media and asked for help from the public. But after a few weeks, nothing seemed to be happening, so he was forced to look for a replacement vehicle online.
While searching, he found a Honda Civic that was very similar to the one he had lost—especially the custom exhaust system. Except for the different registration plates, everything else was almost the same. Due to his excitement, he immediately bought it without much inspection.

Later, he discovered that it was his old car. In the interview, Ewan said, “I didn’t do a thorough check.” He admitted that he had an emotional attachment to the car, which is why he was immediately drawn to it.
The incident taught him to be more careful with online transactions. Although it seemed unlucky at first, his story still had a happy ending—he got his beloved car back.
