A 20-year-old man, a delivery rider, suddenly lost consciousness and died while waiting in line for assistance at the Marikina Sports Center on Monday.
According to Capt. Julius Criste of the Marikina police, the man was in line for financial assistance when he collapsed and lost consciousness. He was immediately taken to the hospital but was dead on arrival at around 5 p.m.
Based on initial findings, he had no pulse and his eyes were wide open when he was taken to the hospital. There was no stampede and the venue was not crowded at the time of the incident.
The police also said that the family will not continue the investigation because they believe the cause of death was natural causes.
