The PDEA seized an estimated ₱8.5 million worth of liquid cocaine from a Colombian national in Brgy. San Antonio, Makati City on Tuesday night. This was done through a controlled delivery operation after suspicions were raised about the contents of a package.
According to PDEA Central Luzon, the suspect was identified as Santiago Francisco Amado Sopo, 32 years old, who uses the alias ‘Antonio Cordero.’ The package was seized on June 21, 2024, at Clark Port and a thorough operation was immediately conducted to catch the recipient of the package.
The suspect was found with three plastic bottles containing liquid cocaine, two IDs, and a cellphone. The illegal drugs were hidden inside a package from Colombia, which immediately raised suspicion during the inspection at the port.
The suspect is facing a case for violation of Republic Act 9165 Section 4, which relates to importation of dangerous drugs.
The PDEA continues to remind the public to be vigilant and immediately report suspicious activities in their surroundings.
