A mother and her daughter died after being trapped in a house fire in Rosales, Pangasinan on Tuesday morning. According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), other people, including the woman, were able to escape. However, she returned to save her 10-year-old son, who is deaf and mute who was still sleeping in the bedroom.
He tried to call for help but his son was still trapped. Neither of them survived and their bodies were found in the room where they were trapped. A senior citizen was injured in the incident, but the severity of the injuries is not yet known.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but according to authorities, there may have been a spark or an explosion in a pole next to the victims' house. As a result, the fire spread and quickly consumed their house. Their home was made of light materials, so it was easily damaged.
Due to the rapid spread of the fire, four adjacent buildings and houses were also affected. So far, the damage caused by the fire is estimated to be P2.5 million, according to the BFP.
