Mother and son robbed by thieves; P40K worth of gadgets missing

A mother and son were injured after a thief robbed their house in Barangay Santo Niño, Marikina, on Sunday morning, March 30, 2025. According to Kyle Adamos, brother of the owner of the stolen gadgets, the incident occurred around 5:00 AM, when their youngest son noticed that the cellphone and tablet were missing from their usual place under their mother's bed.

Kyle and his family noticed something strange because their door and gate were partially open, something unusual. So they reviewed CCTV footage from their barangay's homeowners association, and there they saw a man in a red jacket enter the house and take the gadgets.

The thief stole two cellphones and a tablet, estimated to be worth nearly P40,000. Kyle was very disappointed, especially since the gadgets were taken from under the bed where their mother, who has a brain tumor, was bedridden.

“It’s worrying because our mother was sick, and that’s all. It’s probably a good thing she didn’t wake up, because things might have been different if they had met,” said Kyle. They immediately reported the incident to the barangay, and an investigation was launched.

According to Kristine Esparas, Barangay Peace and Order head, the man seen on the CCTV is not a resident of Barangay Santo Niño. They are already looking for a person of interest and their investigation into the case is still ongoing.
