Honda Leads Motorcycle Sales With 20M Units

Despite fierce competition, Honda continues to dominate the global motorcycle market. The company expects its sales to reach 20.2 million units in the current fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2025. This figure represents nearly 40% of the total motorcycle market share worldwide.

Most of Honda's sales are expected to come from Asian countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, India, and Vietnam, where 17.1 million motorcycles will be sold. Whereas in countries like Japan, Europe, and the United States, they only expect 6% of their total sales, or 1.2 million units.

Although sales in these countries seem low, BMW Motorrad, which celebrated its highest sales in 2024, sold only 210,408 units. However, unlike Honda, BMW does not produce the low-capacity mass-market models that make up a large portion of Honda's total sales.

Honda stated that demand is high for larger leisure motorcycles in Europe, such as CB nakeds, CBR sports models, and Africa Twin adventure models. Also, historically popular models like the Hornet and Transalp have been revived, and continue to boost their sales in these regions.

In the future, Honda expects their sales to grow, especially in Southwest Asia. Currently, 50 million motorcycles are sold annually in the region, and Honda expects this to increase to 60 million by 2030, including electric motorcycles.

Honda continues to demonstrate innovation and excellence, focusing on more efficient production and strengthening their brand in the global motorcycle market.
