The Bureau of Immigration arrested a Chinese national for alleged identity theft and other immigration law violations in an operation conducted in Parañaque City on February 16. According to an official statement, the operation was conducted at a condominium unit in Barangay Tambo where 36-year-old Fang Li was arrested.
According to intelligence reports, Fang was allegedly involved in illegal activities in the local community and was using the identity of another Chinese national to evade authorities. Records show that he entered the country in 2022 as a temporary visitor, but failed to extend his visa, making him an overstaying alien.
In the same operation, two other Chinese nationals were also arrested. 38-year-old Chen Youliang was identified as an undocumented alien with an active Blacklist Order. Meanwhile, 39-year-old Xu Yuxiang was confirmed to have overstayed after his last visa extension expired in 2020. The three are currently detained at the Bureau of Immigration's warden facility while awaiting their deportation proceedings.
