Alexandra “Alex” Eala joins the star-studded playing field of the BNP Paribas Open, which will be held from March 4 to 15. The prestigious tournament is a WTA 1000 event played on hard courts, and is considered one of the biggest stages of women’s tennis this year.
The tournament will be held at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Southern California, where Eala will be joined by some of the biggest names in the sport. These include defending champion Mirra Andreeva, Elena Rybakina—champion in 2023—and World No. 5 Coco Gauff, as well as World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, who will be competing in the tournament for the first time.
Eala's momentum is hot after her campaign in the Middle East swing, where she reached the quarterfinals of a tournament after a dramatic comeback win over Aliaksandra Sasnovich, 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5). Her participation in the BNP Paribas Open is proof of the Filipina tennis star's continued rise on the world stage.
