
A yacht caught fire in the ocean near Tingloy Island, Batangas, where seven crew members were successfully rescued in a swift operation by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Southern Tagalog. The incident occurred this morning while the vessel was sailing in the area.
According to the report, authorities immediately responded after receiving a notification at around 7:35 a.m. With the help of a ship in the convoy, all crew members were safely evacuated. The PCG confirmed that no one was injured, and those rescued underwent medical evaluation as part of standard safety protocol.
The exact cause of the fire is still unknown, but initial information indicates that it started in the engine room due to a possible electrical failure. The yacht was bound for Nasugbu, Batangas for a competition, and investigations are ongoing to ensure the safety of other vessels in the area.
