In Laguna, an 8-year-old boy died after a violent incident reportedly stemmed from a simple fight between children. Rochelle Suarez, the boy's mother, had been waiting for a long time to show her love and care after entrusting her son to her brother-in-law. When the boy's adoptive mother died on October 5, 2025, she slowly began to make up for lost time with her son.
On the day of the incident, Gianni Rick Nodero was excited about his school exam and dance competition. His mother was preparing him a school uniform in the morning, but while waiting for his father, he suddenly disappeared and left behind only his school bag. The family and neighbors immediately launched a search. At around 11 a.m., the boy's body was found in Barangay Santiago 2, riddled with stab wounds and other serious injuries.
Two witnesses identified the 59-year-old suspect, who is a relative and neighbor of the family. According to police, he was quickly arrested but the possible weapon used or the bloodstained clothing have not yet been recovered. The family is extremely shocked because the suspect is a first cousin of the child's father.
According to the investigation, the cause of the crime was a simple fight between children, where the victim often fought with the suspect's grandson. According to the victim's mother, a little mischief is normal for children, so the family is deeply saddened by what happened. “Why did he do that to my child?” asked Rochelle, showing extreme sadness and shock.
