A Grade 3 student from Barangay Santiago 2 in San Pablo City was found brutally murdered after suddenly going missing on Friday morning. According to his sister Genalyn Manalo, the victim, Gianni Rick Nordero, was stabbed repeatedly by an unknown suspect.
The child suffered serious wounds on the neck, stomach, fingers, ears, and several broken ribs. Currently, the family is asking for help from the government to achieve justice. "It's as if you have mercy, please help us. I hope my brother gets justice," said Genalyn.
Based on initial investigation, at around 6 a.m., the child was wearing his school uniform and was waiting for his father to take a shower before dropping him off at school. Suddenly, he disappeared, leaving his bag at home. Family and neighbors immediately raised the alarm and searched for the child.
Around 11 a.m., the child's bloody body was found in a nearby grass next to the cave, about 50 meters from the only access road to the main road. According to the family, they cannot think of any possible crime.
The government has offered a P150,000 reward for information leading to the child's killer. This includes P100,000 from the LGU of San Pablo City and P50,000 from the official of Barangay Santiago 2. Mayor Arcadio Gapangada Jr. denied the incident and assured that the perpetrator will face justice.
