MANILA – Police arrested a 28-year-old Nigerian in Pasay City after he allegedly violated the Anti-Rape Law in an incident inside a condominium in Barangay 76.
According to a report by the Pasay City Police, the altercation began around 3 p.m. on January 6 when the suspect alleged that he had two gold rings missing. He allegedly accused the woman of stealing the rings and hiding them in her private parts.
According to PCol. Joselito De Sesto, the suspect forced the victim to undress and spread her legs to see her private parts, but nothing was found. The woman immediately called for help and the condo's security guard responded to take them to Sub Station 10.
De Sesto said the suspect should have sought help from the authorities instead of taking his own justice. “It is forbidden for a man to search a woman's private parts,” he added. According to the medico-legal, the victim suffered blunt penetrating trauma.
The investigation is ongoing and the suspect remains in police custody. Pasay City Police are investigating all angles of the incident, including the robbery allegation, but it is clear that the suspect's unjust treatment of the woman is the main case.
