The three volunteer workers of the local government of San Pablo City, Laguna received a disturbing Christmas gift: live bullets from an as-yet-unknown sender.
Three .45-caliber bullets, placed in a small box, were marked with the volunteers' initials and included the message “R.I.P.”, indicating a possible threat to their lives. Ernie Empemano, a former congressional candidate, found the box in his garage in Barangay 5-D at around 6:30 p.m. last Friday.
According to Empemano and Rene Amorao, the threat is possibly connected to their work on the current review of infrastructure projects of the local government. “We are now in charge of the flagship projects of the local government,” said Empemano.
