BYD celebrated the production of 15 million New Energy Vehicles (NEVs). These include pure electric BEVs and other electrified models, demonstrating the brand's commitment to sustainable mobility.
Employees held a ceremony at the Jinan factory in China to celebrate the milestone. The 15 millionth NEV to roll off the production line was the 15,000th N8L, a large six-seat SUV from BYD's premium brand Denza.
BYD began production of its first NEV, the F3DM, in 2008 as the world's first mass-produced plug-in hybrid. It took 13 years to reach the first million NEVs, but due to increasing demand, it reached 10 million to 15 million in just 13 months.
In the first 11 months of 2025, BYD's production reached 4.182 million vehicles, 11.3% higher than last year. overseas sales reached 917,000 units, higher than the whole of 2024, and BYD is now present in more than 110 countries and regions.
This achievement demonstrates BYD's rapid growth in the field of electric and hybrid vehicles, and it continues to expand its global presence.
