The driver who went viral after allegedly assaulting a father and son pushing a cart in Antipolo City has been suspended by the LTO.
According to the report, the driver's white pickup truck allegedly hit the father and daughter in Barangay San Roque Tulay. In the video, the driver can be seen hitting the father on the head while the child was crying after falling from the cart.
The person who uploaded the video, along with the father, immediately intervened to stop the incident before the driver could leave. The altercation reportedly occurred when the pickup truck suddenly appeared on the road.
LTO Chief Asec. Markus Lacanilao condemned the assault and ordered a show cause order. A 90-day preventive suspension of the driver's license was also implemented while the case is investigated.
The driver and the vehicle owner are being explained why the license should not be revoked. According to Lacanilao, the driver should be held accountable if the allegations are true, and the agency has ensured justice to the public.
