
The Filipino pole vaulter EJ OBIENA shines again after winning the 4TH SEA GAMES GOLD in the POLE VAULT at the 2025 SEA Games held in BANGKOK, THAILAND.
Obiena set a NEW SEA GAMES RECORD after clearing 5.70 METERS in her first attempt. It surpassed his previous record of 5.65 METERS at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia.
The match was tight against Thai athlete PATSAPONG AMSAM-ANG, who also reached 5.70m on his third attempt. Both failed at 5.75m, but Obiena won with a COUNTBACK.
The Philippines' joy was complete after ELIJAH COLE won the SILVER MEDAL, after surpassing 5.20 METERS and joining Obiena on the podium.
