Serato and AlphaTheta have launched SLAB, Serato's first standalone beatmaking device. It's designed for Serato Studio and is built for music creation, not just DJ performance. SLAB is small and lightweight, so it fits in a backpack and can be taken anywhere.
The SLAB has a 7-inch OLED touch screen for sampling, sequencing, editing, and mixing. It also has 16 RGB pads, macro knobs, and touch strip for FX, filters, and automation. It works without a laptop because it has its own processor for low-latency sound.
Also featured is the Stems Level feature which allows separate control of drums, bass, melody, and vocals directly on the device. The SLAB is perfect for DJs who want to produce and producers who want hands-on control. It is priced at $329 USD / €299 EUR / £259 GBP and is available now.
