TV host-actress Kim Chiu has filed a complaint against her sister Lakambini Chiu after discovering alleged financial discrepancies in their business. Along with his lawyers Xylene Dolor and Archernar Gregana, Kim filed a criminal complaint for qualified theft at the Office of the Assistant City Prosecutor in Quezon City.
According to Atty. Dolor, the complaint pertains to qualified theft and covers the fiscal year 2025. The exact business was not specified, but he said Lakambini was part of the management of the company. The family has been trying to resolve the problem internally for a long time, but it ended up in legal action due to the gravity of the situation.
In Kim's statement, he said that after months of internal review, he was forced to file the lawsuit due to a large amount of money lost from his business assets. He emphasized that he did this to protect the company and the people who rely on its work. He also asked for privacy as his family goes through a difficult time.
Kim also said that she remains hopeful for healing and resolution, while continuing her commitment to her work, her supporters, and the growth of her businesses. Off camera, she made a brief but powerful statement: "It's too heavy."
