The NBI confirmed that they arrested a DPWH engineer linked to anomalies in flood control projects in Quezon City this Sunday morning.
According to the agency, the engineer has a warrant of arrest along with other people involved in the flood control mess, and he was traced to the city. Meanwhile, the QCPD said that they failed in their first attempt to serve the warrants on the other accused because they were not at their respective registered addresses.
The QCPD stated that they immediately launched manhunt operations for the accused who are said to be residing in their jurisdiction. The QCPD and CIDG also tried to serve the warrant on Anthony Ngo of Sunwest Corp., but only the caretaker came forward and said that Ngo no longer lives there and his whereabouts were unknown.
Police also went to areas connected to Lerma Cayco and Timojen Sacar, both from DPWH MIMAROPA, but relatives and security personnel said they were not in the area and their location was uncertain.
QCPD continues with follow-up operations, district-wide manhunt, and coordination with PCTC for a possible Red Notice. They have also spoken to the DOJ for a Hold Departure Order and they are also asking the DILG to place a monetary reward to expedite the arrest.
