
Cadillac is set to integrate Apple Car Key into select models, according to new backend code. With the feature, you can now use your iPhone or Apple Watch to lock, unlock, and start your vehicle using Apple Wallet.
Access will be simpler as it will use NFC and wireless tech to turn the device into a digital key. Cadillac is among the brands expected to support Car Key following Apple's announcement at WWDC 2025.
While GM is moving away from using Apple CarPlay in some EVs, they are embracing the secure Car Key system. This shows that control of the dashboard interface and the use of a digital key are separate.
Cadillac joins other brands like BMW, Genesis, and Hyundai that already have a digital key. It strengthens the connection of luxury cars to the smartphone ecosystem. There is no final list of models or release date yet, but it is clear that the rollout is coming.
