Senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa has asked the Supreme Court for a temporary restraining order (TRO) against an alleged arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC).
In his urgent petition on Wednesday, Dela Rosa said all pending motions should be addressed immediately due to their gravity and immediate impact on constitutional rights. The petition includes his previous case with former President Rodrigo Duterte against Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on March 11, 2025.
According to Dela Rosa's lawyer, Israelito Torreon, the court must fulfill its role as the final reviewer of legal and constitutional issues to safeguard Philippine sovereignty.
Dela Rosa also asked the court to acknowledge Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla's statement that he has an arrest warrant. However, the DOJ, DFA, and DILG assured that there is no formal warrant against Dela Rosa yet.
