Kim Atienza, emotional over the loss of her son Emman

TV host Kim Atienza was emotional as she recounted the day she learned her son Emman had passed away. In the interview, Kim said that two days before the incident, Emman texted her mother that she needed to go to a therapy center but that it had nothing to do with self-harm. That's when they realized something was wrong.

They tried calling Emman repeatedly but he didn't answer. According to Kim, he was in the Philippines at the time while his wife Feli was in Florida for a pickleball competition. The next morning, Kim received a message from Feli: “I have terrible, terrible news.” That's when she said she felt something bad happen. “I fell to my knees, my knees were numb, and I was cold,” said Kim.

Kim shared that losing a child was one of the most painful experiences she could not explain. “Even if the Lord gave me a disease like cancer, I would endure it. But when you lose a child, you don’t know where the pain comes from,” she said emotionally.

Amidst the overwhelming sadness, Kim maintains that there is a good reason behind everything. She believes that Emman's life has inspired many, not only in the Philippines but around the world. “Emman is known for his kindness. He always spreads ‘a little kindness,’” Kim said.

For Kim, there was a deeper purpose to what happened. “Nothing happens by accident. I know the Lord has a good reason. Emman did not die in vain,” Kim concluded.
