A known hitman allegedly involved in the killing of a tricycle driver in Tondo, Manila last year has been caught in Bulacan.
Police officers from the Warrant and Subpoena Section of the Manila Police District arrested the suspect in Barangay Lambakin, Marilao on October 23. He was served with a warrant of arrest for murder. The 30-year-old suspect ran away but was quickly caught by authorities.
According to Police Major Gil John Lobaton, they have been monitoring the suspect for a long time because he is allegedly a hitman for drug pushers. When he is unable to remit, he is said to be the one ordered to kill. He often commits crimes in Manila before fleeing to Marilao.
The suspect admitted to using drugs but denied involvement in the crime. He said that someone was just angry with him, which is why he was targeted.
The victim's parents were in tears upon hearing the news of the arrest. According to them, they hope that the mastermind of the crime will also be caught and punished. Two guns and ammunition were recovered from the suspect. He is currently detained at the MPD and is facing charges of murder and illegal possession of firearms.
