
Typhoon Ramil caused severe damage in various parts of the country. According to the NDRRMC report, seven people were confirmed dead while two were missing. One person was also injured in Calabarzon. Five of the fatalities were from Calabarzon, while two and the missing were from Western Visayas.
Almost 173,000 people were affected by the typhoon, and 6,199 of them are temporarily staying in evacuation centers. 2,260 families are in 166 evacuation centers, while 2,719 families are staying with relatives or friends.
To help the victims, DSWD released ₱5.4 million in aid. The largest amount went to Western Visayas (₱3 million), followed by Central Luzon (₱1.1 million) and Bicol Region (₱1 million).
Typhoon Ramil left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Monday morning and is now 605 kilometers west of Laoag City. It is no longer directly affecting the country, but cloudy skies and rains are still expected in some areas of Luzon and Visayas.
According to PAGASA, no new typhoon is expected to enter until October 26, but a low-pressure area may form outside the PAR from October 27 to November 2. Fishermen are still advised to be careful as wave heights may reach 2.5 meters.
