The NBI-Cavite North has arrested a Japanese and two Filipinos for online threats and extortion. This started after the two Japanese filed a complaint that they were told to kill and extort money from their countrymen, including two Filipinos.
Based on the complaint, the Japanese suspect renovated a coffee shop worth ₱4.7 million. The contractor was charged ₱3.3 million, but the remaining amount was not paid. The suspect allegedly even forced the contractor to take out a loan to continue the project, in exchange for a promise to pay from the sale of the property in Japan—which was not fulfilled.
On September 20, 2025, the suspects and the victim met. According to the story, the Japanese and two former Filipino police officers allegedly threatened them. They even said that they had connections and that they could “kill” or have the victim arrested if he did not pay the alleged fine.
An entrapment operation was conducted in which three suspects were caught after receiving the marked money.
