A carnival ride in Brgy. South Poblacion, Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte derailed on Saturday, injuring 6 passengers including a 2-year-old child. Four of them sustained minor injuries.
According to a witness's cellphone video, people were visibly panicking as the "Apollo Moon Rocket" wagon ride moved. A mother was very grateful that her family was not affected.
Carnival manager Dave Loyola explained that the ride had almost finished its journey and was slowing down when it suddenly had a problem. He said that a piece of clothing got caught on the rail, causing the screw to break and the wagon to completely derail.P
Sinabi ni Police Major Norwen Abelida na ligtas na ang mga biktima at kasalukuyang nagpapagamot. Nagpakita ng kahandaan ang may-ari ng karnabal na sagutin ang gastusin at tumulong sa mga nasugatan. Nagbigay na rin ng tulong pinansyal ang lokal na pamahalaan.
The police and carnival management assured that inspections and safety measures will be intensified before the rides are reopened to the public.
