
Typhoon “Paolo” has slightly strengthened as it approaches northern Luzon this Thursday, October 2, 2025. Signal No. 2 has been raised in parts of Isabela, Quirino, and Aurora, according to PAGASA.
According to the 11 a.m. bulletin, Paolo was last sighted at 575 kilometers east of Infanta, Quezon. It was moving west-northwest at 20 kph, packing 75 kph maximum sustained winds and 90 kph gustiness.
Signal No. 2 (inaasahang malalakas na hangin sa loob ng 24 oras) ay nakataas sa timog-silangang bahagi ng Isabela, hilagang bahagi ng Quirino, at hilagang bahagi ng Aurora. Samantala, Signal No. 1 naman ang nakataas sa malaking bahagi ng Luzon kabilang ang Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet, Ilocos, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Pampanga, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur at Catanduanes.
Signal No. 2 (expected strong winds within 24 hours) is raised over the southeastern part of Isabela, the northern part of Quirino, and the northern part of Aurora. Meanwhile, Signal No. 1 was raised over most of Luzon including Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet, Ilocos, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Pampanga, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur and Catanduanes.
Paolo is likely to make landfall in Southern Isabela or Northern Aurora on Friday morning. According to PAGASA, it could further strengthen into a Severe Tropical Storm and raise Signal No. 3. It is also likely to reach typhoon category before exiting the West Philippine Sea.
