Former senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. said he will face “head-on” the ‘untrue’ allegations of receiving a P150 million kickback from a former DPWH official.
According to Roberto Bernardo, former DPWH undersecretary, he personally met with Revilla in 2024 where the senator allegedly asked for a “commitment” for his run for the Senate in 2025. Bernardo said he brought P150 million to Revilla's house in Cavite.
In a statement released, Revilla vehemently denied the accusation, calling it "absolutely untrue." He added that he is "ready to cooperate" with any official investigation or legal process to uncover the truth.
Also mentioned in the Senate Blue Ribbon hearing as being implicated in the allegation were Francis Escudero, Zaldy Co, and Nancy Binay. Co quickly denied the allegation, while Escudero said it was part of a "planned sabotage." Meanwhile, Binay insisted that his public service has always been clean.
