The impact of the consecutive typhoons Mirasol and Nando caused serious damage in several parts of the country. According to reports, there are 3 dead, 9 injured, and 5 missing. Two of the deceased were from Central Luzon, while one was from the Cordillera that was hit by a landslide in Benguet.
Up to ₱123,142 people or 35,264 families have been affected, and nearly ₱13,431 people are staying in over 252 evacuation centers, mostly in Cagayan Valley. According to the report, more than 28 houses were damaged in Cordillera, Central Luzon, Western Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula.
The Philippine Army has deployed soldiers and volunteers to Isabela, La Union, Cagayan, Abra, and Baguio City for rescue and relief operations. Meanwhile, the Coast Guard reported that one fisherman died and six others are missing after a boat capsized in Cagayan.
More than 44,000 families or an estimated ₱159,000 people were affected by the typhoon, including those from Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Cordillera, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa. More than 7,900 households were evacuated before the typhoon hit.
Meanwhile, another typhoon named Opong has also entered PAR. It has a maximum sustained wind speed of 55 kph and is expected to make landfall in Northern Samar before crossing Southern Luzon. heavy rains and winds are expected in Visayas and Luzon starting tomorrow, along with storm surge in low-lying areas.
