The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has deported 6 Japanese nationals who are alleged to be members of the notorious syndicate “JP Dragon.” According to BI deportation unit chief Alex Arciaga, the suspects left aboard Japan Airlines for Tokyo on September 10.
Among those deported are Hiraki Ishikawa (46), Tsubasa Amano (30), Akira Sambonchiku (26), Naoto Matsumoto (36), Rintaro Yamane (28), and Masato Morihiro (38). They were arrested on May 21 in separate operations in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan and Ermita, Manila.
According to reports from Japanese authorities, the JP Dragon syndicate is involved in large-scale senior citizen fraud. Their method is to impersonate police officers to obtain victims' ATM cards and bank information.
Five of them have arrest warrants in Fukuoka, Japan for theft, while Matsumoto was caught overstaying. All of them are blacklisted and will not be allowed to return to the Philippines.
In comparison, the group's operations are estimated to have generated millions of pesos from defrauding victims in Japan.
