A school principal who was reported missing was found dead in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte on Monday.
The victim was identified as Abusadid Landasan, principal of Madrasatul Alnor Al-Islamie in Barangay Lawili, Aleosan, Cotabato. His body was found on the side of the road in Barangay Taviran.
The victim had a bullet wound in the chest and his hands and feet were tied with rope. According to Lt. Col. Esmael Madin, Datu Odin Sinsuat police chief, it is possible that the victim was kidnapped and killed elsewhere before being left there.
Landasan was last seen by relatives driving a motorcycle in Barangay New Panay, Aleosan before he went missing.
The family immediately buried him in accordance with Islamic tradition that the deceased must be buried within 24 hours.
