A passenger bus collided with several vehicles before hitting a concrete barrier at the MRT-7 construction site on Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City on Thursday, August 28, 2025. Ten people were injured in the incident.
According to reports, the bus was heading to Fairview when the brakes failed. Despite the situation, the driver chose to drive the bus straight to the center island rather than crash into more vehicles. The accident involved a UV Express, nine cars, and five motorcycles.
The collision caused heavy traffic on Commonwealth Avenue. Personnel from the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and Road Emergency Group immediately responded to rescue the injured and remove the crashed bus.
The injured were immediately taken to various hospitals including East Avenue Medical Center and Commonwealth Hospital. None were reported to be in critical condition.
The driver is currently in the custody of the Quezon City Traffic District while the cause of the accident is still being investigated.
