Viber has issued a statement regarding the issue of online gambling. According to the company, they do not have any features that offer or accept payment for any gambling services.
While some ads related to gambling are allowed, Viber has made it clear that this is only covered where local law allows. They are also not directly involved in paying for transactions related to this.
Viber said it is working with government authorities to ensure its policies are compliant with regulations. It added that it only works with carefully selected partners to ensure a safe user experience.
The issue became a hot topic after reports emerged that some gambling operators were moving to different platforms after banks and e-wallets in the country stopped processing payments for such services.
According to their advertising policy, ads about casino, bingo, poker, and lottery are allowed, but must be approved by Viber first and must comply with laws and regulations, including the correct age restrictions.
