The suspect in the killing of former Far Eastern University (FEU) football player Keith Absalon has been captured by authorities in Masbate City. The suspect, identified by the alias “Ka Jerome,” is 36 years old, a member of the New People’s Army (NPA), and number 1 most wanted in the Bicol region.
He was arrested in the mountainous area of Brgy. Cawayan Exterior in Masbate City on the afternoon of August 6, 2025. The operation involved personnel from the CIDG-Masbate, Masbate Police, Army, and other law enforcement units.
Ka Jerome is charged with 4 counts of murder, 2 counts of frustrated murder, one count of attempted murder, and one count of violation of international humanitarian law. He is one of those accused of being responsible for the murder of Absalon and his cousin on June 20, 2021.
He was unable to escape when the operatives surrounded the house where he was staying. When he resisted, he was immediately arrested.
