The two brothers and their friend were involved in an accident while on their way to the hospital in Barangay 178, Caloocan City, early Tuesday, August 5. The 27-year-old motorcycle driver died, while his 19-year-old brother and their passenger friend are in critical condition.
According to the father of the brothers, they were about to rush their friend to the hospital when the motorcycle they were riding crashed into a pole on Camarin Road. The victims were rushed to the hospital but the older brother was declared dead on arrival. The two companions are still fighting for their lives.
An eyewitness to the incident said the motorcycle was going fast and seemed to avoid something before hitting a traffic sign post. The barangay official who responded added that the three were not wearing helmets. According to him, accidents are common in that area.
The brothers' father is now asking for help with hospital and funeral expenses. "If anyone can help, just call me. It's up to you what you can afford," the father said emotionally.
Authorities also reminded motorists not to drive too fast and to always wear a helmet to avoid such tragedies. Police are continuing their investigation.
