The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) confirmed that a Chinese national posing as a Filipino was arrested at the airport on July 13. He was identified as Wang Xiujun, after posing under the name Casia Palma Poliquit and presenting complete Philippine documents such as a passport, birth certificate, and Special Investor’s Resident Visa (SIRV).
The NBI investigation revealed that there was misrepresentation and concealment of true identity. According to the NBI Cavite District Office, they have filed a case against the suspect. With the help of fingerprint verification from BOI, DFA, and old NBI clearance records, it was found that Casia's fingerprint is the same as the fingerprint of someone who applied as Wang Xiujun in 2021.
The NBI also showed enlarged fingerprint images that proved the match. According to Dr. Alfredo Kahanding of the NBI Dactyloscopy Division, "Only one fingerprint is needed to identify a person."
According to NBI Regional Director Ferdinand Lavin, this is another "Alice Guo-like" case where a Chinese national pretended to be a Filipino. He added that Wang is facing charges for violations of the Immigration Law such as misrepresentation, violation of conditions of stay, and being undesirable alien.
The suspect did not give a statement when the media attempted to interview him.
