Some online sellers on TikTok did not let the flood defeat them as they sold rain gear like waterproof pants, raincoats, boots, and umbrellas. Despite the knee-deep flood, their live selling continued, which impressed many netizens.
A TikTok user CALEVEL from Calumpit, Bulacan showed two sellers going live while their house was flooded. To prove that it was a real flood, they even caught the gala fish using a kitchen strainer, much to the amusement of many viewers.
Valine, another TikTok user, walked through the floodwaters outside her home to demonstrate how effective waterproof boots are. The video shows the authenticity and practicality of their product as the rain drenched the surroundings.
While some were concerned for the safety of the sellers, many were also pleased with their courage and sense of humor. “Just flood us, we are slaves of money!” according to one comment.
According to the NDRRMC, five people died and more than 370,000 people were affected by Typhoon Crising, which brought heavy rains and landslides. Although it is no longer in the PAR, it is still strengthening the southwest monsoon, which is likely to bring rains to Metro Manila, Luzon, and the Visayas in the coming days.
