The three people were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Burgos, Rodriguez, Rizal. During the operation, police seized 172 grams of suspected shabu worth nearly P1.2 million, a gun, ammunition, and marked money.
According to Lt. Col. Paul Sabulao of the Rodriguez Police, they have been monitoring the suspects' movements for over a month. They are said to be moving from one residence to another while continuing to repackaging drugs for sale.
The suspects were identified as being from Pasig, Marikina, and San Mateo. One of them, a 47-year-old man, was previously jailed in Muntinlupa for drug charges. Arrested with him were his 32-year-old live-in partner and a 44-year-old man, both of whom were also involved in the sale of illegal drugs.
The supply of shabu allegedly came from Taguig, which they were dropping in Rodriguez and neighboring towns in Rizal. According to the suspects, the accusation is not true and they were just implicated.
The three are currently detained at the Rodriguez Police Station and will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
