Motorists and residents on Quezon Boulevard, Quiapo were shocked to see a man climbing an electricity pole past 11 p.m. on Thursday, July 10. According to Councilor Mac Mateo of Barangay 391, the man allegedly had problems with his wife regarding another relationship.
The police were immediately dispatched to the area and tried to talk to the man. Mateo said he was scared when he saw the police but was advised to talk to them and that they were ready to help him with any problem he had.
When twelve o'clock in the morning arrived, he slowly descended from the pole. He said he didn't like crowds, so when there were fewer people, he descended peacefully.
He was taken to Barangay 308, where he lives. There, his family and several guards picked him up to talk to and comfort him.
The man and his relatives refused to speak about the incident.
