The dashcam in Raymond Cabrera's car was key to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) investigation into his murder case. Cabrera, a TNVS driver, was last seen alive after picking up three passengers from Parañaque to Molino, Cavite.
According to NBI agent Joseph Martinez, Cabrera's call was heard in the dashcam audio recording as passengers inside the vehicle helped him. The video also showed the routes the car took before it was found abandoned and covered in blood in Malanday, Valenzuela on May 18.
Using CCTV footage and dashcam clips, the three suspects were identified. Two of them were seen getting off at a convenience store, boarding a pedicab and later transferring to another vehicle.
According to authorities, the possible motive for the crime was holding and stealing a vehicle. To this day, Cabrera's body has not been found.
The three suspects have been charged with murder, and the Department of Justice (DOJ) has also begun a preliminary investigation into the incident.
